At LEO Fencing Club, our youth classes are designed to introduce kids to the art of épée fencing and develop a passion for the sport. Our classes are fun, engaging, and help children meet their fencing objectives - whether they just want to fence recreationally or aspire to become Olympic hopefuls.

Age Range

Our youth classes are open to kids aged 6 and up, and provide a safe and supportive environment.

Class Structure

Our classes follow a structured curriculum to help fencers develop from beginner to advanced levels.

Youth Learn to Fence Class

Enter the world of fencing

Start your child's fencing adventure with our Learn to Fence program for children ages 6 to 14. Classes meet for one hour and introduce kids to the thrilling Olympic sport of épée fencing.

Kids learn the fundamentals, including the rules, weapon handling, footwork, and basic blade techniques. Plus, they'll make new friends while exploring this exciting sport!

We provide all the necessary equipment - just have your child come ready to learn! 

​

Class Time: 

  • Age 6–9: Saturday at 10:00–11:00 am

  • Age 10–14: Saturday at 11:30 am–12:30 pm

Price:

  • 1 class per week:  $150 per month

Youth Fencing Fundamentals I

Build skills and a strong foundation.

Fencing Fundamentals I is the perfect next step for children who have participated in the Learn to Fence Class and are ready for the next level. In this class, young fencers will build on their foundational skills through engaging footwork drills, basic bladework, and introductory strategies, all while enjoying more time for bouting. Students will enhance their discipline, focus, and confidence in a fun and supportive environment, setting the stage for future advancement in their fencing journey.

All equipment is provided—just bring your energy and enthusiasm to the strip!

Class Times: 

  • Saturday at 11:30 am–12:30 pm​​​

Price:

  • 1 class per week: $150 per month

Youth Fencing Fundamentals II

Enhance your skills. Sharpen technique. Grow confidence. 

In the Fencing Fundamentals II class, fencers strengthen their foundations with advanced footwork, refined blade work, parries, strategy basics, and more dedicated time for bouting. Students continue to develop discipline, focus, and confidence while experiencing the thrill of fencing in a supportive environment. Students may attend one or two sessions per week.

Fencers who attend class two days or more per week should purchase their own gear.

​

Class Times: 

  • Tuesday at 5:00–6:00 pm

  • Thursday at 5:00–6:00 pm

Price:

  • 1 class per week: $150 per month

  • 2 classes per week: $260 per month

Youth Intermediate Class

Sharpen your skills

Our Intermediate class is for youth fencers who have progressed beyond our Fencing Fundamentals classes. Fencers train for two or three 90-minute classes weekly, focusing on advanced footwork, conditioning, complex techniques, and bouting.

Coaches assist each fencer in setting goals and track skills progression to support their fencing journey. Intermediate classes require an Annual Club Membership. Fencers gain access to Open Fencing and priority access to competitive camps/clinics.

​

Equipment is required.

 

Class Times (choose 2 or 3 classes per week): 

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 5:00–6:30 pm

Price:​

  • 2 classes per week:  $300 per month

  • 3 classes per week:  $400 per month

Advanced Class

Master the duel

Our Advanced class is dedicated to the needs of our competitive fencers. Enrollment requires coach assessment.

This program emphasizes specialized tactics and adaptive techniques, strategic mindset, and psychological preparation for bouts. Targeted conditioning and endurance training prepare our athletes for high-level national or international competition.​
​
Fencers attend three 2-hour classes weekly. Our Advanced class requires an Annual Club Membership. Fencers gain access to Open Fencing and priority access to competitive camps/clinics.​ Equipment and a competitive USA Fencing membership is required.


Class Times (3 classes per week): 

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 6:30–8:30 pm
