How Kai Discovered Fencing
How did you learn about fencing? How long have you been fencing for?
I learned about fencing from my neighbor whose daughter fenced. I started at the age of 12.

The Joy of Fencing
What do you love about fencing?
I love that fencing is a highly strategic sport that involves a lot of problem-solving. As a kid, it was super exciting to me that every bout felt like a new puzzle for me to solve. As a result, I continue to like fencing because it continuously challenges, me physically, mentally and emotionally. I also like fencing because of the friends and mentorship I have found throughout my experience.
Words of Wisdom for Young Fencers
What advice do you have for younger fencers?
I have received a lot of great advice over the years. My advice for young fencers is to stick to a routine and to pack your favorite snacks for competitions.

Notable results
I have worked hard and enjoyed fencing at a high level. Some of my highlights are: 6x NAC/National gold medalist, team Gold at 2026 Pan American Championships, team silver at Astana Kazakhstan World Cup, 2016 NCAA Individual Silver medalist, All-American.
