How Roman Discovered Fencing

How did you learn about fencing? How long have you been fencing for?

My dad suggested that I try the summer fencing camp in San Antonio, and I liked it very much. I have been fencing for 3.5 years since then.

The Joy of Fencing

What do you love about fencing?

Fencing offers an opportunity to meet new people and make a lot of friends. Fencing trains your endurance and reactions, and that's what is important in daily life.

Why LEO

What do you like about LEO?

I truly enjoy fencing with nice people and being trained by awesome coaches. Leo's coaches always support me and never make me give up.

Life Lessons from Fencing

What is one important lesson you have learned about life from fencing?

Never judge a book by its cover. For me, it means you can never assess a person’s skills by their appearance.

Beyond Fencing

What do you enjoy doing outside of fencing?

Outside of fencing time, I like to take swimming lessons and practice jiu-jitsu. These two types of sports also help me to stay focused and strong.

Looking Ahead

What is your next goal (fencing or otherwise)?

My next fencing goal is to perfect my fleche. Outside of fencing, I hope to learn to play the cello.

Words of Wisdom for Young Fencers

What advice do you have for younger fencers?

My advice is to never give up! It is okay to make mistakes as they build up your personality.

A Note of Gratitude
